The 1000-year-old Abbaye exudes a sense of serenity and history that is truly captivating. The well-trained staff, including Sylvan and Charlie, added to the warm welcome and informative stay.The rooms, once monk sleeping cells, offered a comfortable stay with lovely views of the lake. The preservation of the old architectural features added to the charm and historical ambiance of the property. Private parking and lakeside loungers were convenient perks, ensuring a peaceful and enjoyable stay.While the breakfast was good, it did not stand out as exceptional. However, the highlight was undeniably the dining experience orchestrated by the attentive staff and the impressive food and wine selection.Although the location is a bit secluded, the value of the experience aligns well with the cost. For travelers seeking a unique blend of history, tranquility, and good service without breaking the bank, Abbaye offers a compelling proposition.
